Song for a Sasquatch

by Mary Milne

/

about

Written one evening when a friend challenged me to write a song about a Sasquatch while he was in the bathroom.

lyrics

Baby Sasquatch on my shoulder
baby Sasquatch in my mind
maybe Sasquatch I'd never get older
if you'd only keep your hand in mine

doo doo doo do do do do do do
do do do do do doo do doo

Me and baby Sasquatch we go walking
through snow-bent trees across silver streams
and he mostly does the talking
I mostly don't know what it means

doo doo doo do do do do do do
do do do do do doo do doo

Baby Sasquatch he has bad days
for there's creatures in his head
that tell him no matter where he gets to
he should be somewhere else instead

doo doo doo do do do do do do
do do do do do doo do doo

I woke up this morning
saw baby Sasquatch pack his sleigh
guess sometimes to keep a good thing going
means you let it slide away

baby Sasquatch only shoulder
baby Sasquatch in my mind
maybe Sasquatch I'd never get older
if you'd only keep your hand in mine

doo doo doo do do do do do do
do do do do do doo do doo
