lyrics

GIANT FLOATING SWAN

"I don't know what I want anymore"
you shout at me from the aisle of the super store
and I'm here on earth why can't I feel the floor
most days I'm pretty sure you don't love me anymore

so when you gonna use that old heart
when you gonna figure it out

but these things fade like
flyers on a lawn
that have been left out
all week while we were gone
on a sun vacation
in some poorer nation
where you eat well
and feel bad the whole time

I don't know what you want anymore
I spin all my wheels
but you just won't pick a door
and all I wanted was somebody
who'd still tell me what I'm good for
other papa's still bring their mamas
out on the dance floor
(dance floor, dance floor)

I feel wasted
like flyers on a lawn
that have been left out
til all the deals are gone
on imitations
made in starving nations
could have got em for a dollar cause
out there someones living on a dime

and is it real or is it just pretend
I got a spoon up in my mind that I just can't bend
and I lost my way and most of my friends
cause I never ever call them back

we've been left out
like a giant floating swan
only drifting
all the years that we've been gone
on some vacation
from who it is
we really are
